Our Lady of Guadalupe Chardonnay

2024 OLG Chardonnay, Our Lady of Guadalupe Vineyard, Santa Barbara County

2024 was a historically low-yielding year in the Sta. Rita Hills due to fluctuating growing conditions. A cool spring paired with a relatively warm summer resulted in an early harvest. However, despite the lower yields, smaller clusters with even smaller berries produced wines with immense concentration and depth. The resulting 2024 OLG Chardonnay is powerful and layered, elegantly tempered with the acidity and maritime influence that the region is so well known for.

Winemaker's Notes

A medium liquid gold pours into the glass with shimmers of jade and a commanding presence. From the first foray, the nose shows off ripe Meyer lemon, Chantilly cream, lemon meringue and graham cracker, while a hint of white pepper and ocean spray open in time. On entry, what emerges is a wine of multiple layers, from the immediate hit of rich lemon sorbet to the delectable mille-feuille that reaches the depths of the palate with hints of caramel and sea salt. A close of bright, lifting acidity, the lemon sorbet re-emerges, rounding out the journey that is the 2024 OLG Chardonnay.
