Tough, fibrous, dry and rough on the surface, Lamparillo is a wild variety of Agave asperrima that grows in arid conditions. Its name translates to "rough," which is befitting considering it thrives in the driest parts of Nombre de Dios and Poanas and in the Cuencamé Desert. Distilled in copper, this Mezcal has a very clean texture and an earthy flavor profile reminiscent of carob and cacao.
