Bodegas Luzon is the leader in the making and in the export of quality wines from the D.O. Jumilla (Murcia, Spain).
Bodegas Luzon was established in 1916 and has more than 600 hectares of its own vineyards, with several prestigious varieties such as: Monastrell
(Mourvédre), Tempranillo, Cabernet- Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot as red grapes and Macabeo and Chardonnay as white grapes.
Since the Fuertes family ( www.grupofuertes.es ) bought Bodegas Luzon in 2004, they began the difficult and costly process of undertaking a programme
of modernisation, unprecedented in the region. The production process for quality control was greatly improved through the acquisition of pneumatic
presses, cooling systems, autovinifiers and high-tech laboratory.

This is an intensely fruity, modern wine blended specially
for today's market by the prestigious Bodegas Luzón winery.
The wine is deep violet in colour with prominent aromas
of rich berry fruit. On the palate it is full bodied with perfectly
balance acidity and tannins. The finish is long and complex
with a characteristically spicy touch.
Carmina Luna is made to be enjoyed on its own or with good food. Recommended
with red meat, rice dishes, pasta, chicken, barbeques and cheeses.

Region Description

This mountainous country possesses more vineyard land than any other country on earth, and ranks third in wine production after France and Italy. Spain is best known for its red Riojas and its Sherries, however other wines and regions are quickly gaining notoriety. Like France, Spain divides wine into categories; table wine at the bottom level and quality wine at the top, with a large emphasis on geographical origin. VdM (Vino de Mesa) is a basic table wine. VC (Vino Comarcal) wines are a level up. VdlT (Vino de la Tierra) refers to one of the country’s 25 distinct regions, and each wine possesses a local character. At the top level, only about fifty wines are considered DO (Denominacion de Origen). These wines come from the best-known regions and are the equivalent of France’s Appellation Contrôlée. DOC (Denominacion de Origen Calificada) is reserved for wines that adhere to the most stringent regulations. So far, Rioja is the only wine to gain the Calificada classification.
