For the vintage year 2006, Billecart-Salmon produced several prestige cuvées, including the Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Louis Blanc de Blancs 2006 and the Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Nicolas François Billecart 2006. There is no "Billecart Salmon Cuvee Louis 2006" as a standalone product. The Cuvée Louis is always a Blanc de Blancs. A Cuvée Elisabeth Salmon Rosé was also released in 2006.
Billecart-Salmon Cuvée Louis Blanc de Blancs 2006
This vintage Blanc de Blancs is named after Louis Salmon, the brother of co-founder Elisabeth Salmon.
- Grapes: Made from 100% Chardonnay sourced from Grands Crus in the Côte des Blancs, including Avize, Chouilly, Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Cramant.
- Vinification: A small portion of the juices (5%) are vinified in oak barrels. The wine spends 9 to 11 years aging on its lees.
- Tasting notes: Millesima USA describes a golden yellow color with subtle green reflections, a complex and mineral nose, and a palate that is balanced, fine, and creamy with flavors of citron zest, flat peach, and white pepper.
